Not Ratified Treaties
US. Presidents have signed three treaties that have not yet been ratified by the Senate:
- International Covenant on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights (ICESCR),
- International Convention on Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), and
- International Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC).
Under International law, a nation that has singed a treaty but has not completed ratification must not violate the terms of the treaty under the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties, Art. 18A (a), (b). (It is not required to make the reports to the U.N. Committee it will have to make after ratification).
