MCLI Winter Fundraising Drive for 2018/2019
- Human Rights Reporting and Monitoring: MCLI submitted a Shadow Report to the U.N. Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD). The U.S. report to the Committee Against Torture (CAT) is due in 2018, and MCLI will continue to advocate for human rights accountability.
- Education: MCLI held numerous Human Rights Forums on Racism before submitting the Shadow Report to CERD. Also, MCLI co-sponsored the Workshop on the Human Rights of Children, Parents, and Families at the National Lawyers Guild Convention.
- Mobilizations: MCLI coordinated the Campaign for the Human Rights of Landless People where we co-founded the Bay Area Landless Peoples Alliance. MCLI assisted unhoused residents of curbside communities to collaborate with attorneys to initiate civil rights litigation defending their rights.
MCLI needs your support to continue and expand this work as we recruit the next generation of leadership from communities directly impacted by human rights violations.
We are beginning MCLI’s Winter Fundraising Drive. Our goal is to raise $7,000.
Consider sponsoring at the following levels:
$10 per month or $120. This covers our office printing costs for three months.
$20 per month or $240. This covers the cost of printing a pamphlet or handbook such as MCLI’s Know Your Rights Handbook for Landless People
$50 per month or $600. This covers MCLI’s costs for leading a remote workshop such as the Human Rights of Children, Parents, and Families at the upcoming National Lawyers Guild Convention in Portland, Oregon.
$100 per month or $1,200. This covers the cost of making a presentation before an international human rights monitoring body.
Help us reach our Fall fundraising goals.
