Human Rights Now! December 2017
Every day we hear of new violations of human rights by the Trump administration. This continuous attack on our human rights is so immense that this edition of Human Rights Now! only scratches the surface of the challenges we face today. Follow this link to find the December 2017 edition of Human Rights Now!
The attacks on our human rights by the Trump administration add to the already dire human rights situation we previously faced. We must act now if we are going to turn back this tide. Now more than ever the work of the Meiklejohn Civil Liberties Institute (MCLI) is critical to hold local, state, and federal official accountable for their crimes against human rights. MCLI is uniquely position to initiate a “mobilization of shame” led by oppressed communities and social movements.
Rather than assume leadership MCLI holds Human Rights Forums to collaborate with community members and community organizers. In this way the work of MCLI is a collaborative effort with the communities struggling against oppression. Our next Human Rights Forum will be Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 6:30 PM GROW Incubator, 909 7th Street, Oakland, CA 94607. Please spread the word!(https://www.facebook.com/events/147276946033109/)
To mobilize effectively MCLI needs your support.
